Firdaria is a Persian timing technique dividing life into planetary periods. We examine Tolkien's periods during the release of his masterwork.

The Forensic Evidence

Tolkien published The Fellowship of the Ring in 1954. At this time, his Firdaria shifted into the sub-period of Venus, while his major period was Mercury. Mercury rules writing, language, and translation (he was a philologist).
